Theres two types of cable . Straight or crossover . Whilst from the modem to the pc its fine but put same cable from modem to router and it causes issues . I would eliminate the cable as a possible cause . Next step is try the router at another pc on a different connection . If you get the same low speed then the fault is in the router .]]>

If the router is struggling with the connection though it works harder and that could well be why its slowing up . I would get the line checked by Virgin you never know .]]>

If you have set it up correctly then the only thing I can see being a problem is the cable between the router and the modem tbh .]]>

Its not unusual for a connection to slow up when the isp hits peak hours about 6pm . I would also monitor your line stats see if they are bouncing around indicating a fault or showing up lots of errors .]]>

I'll give it a go and see how I get on. </P><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>But....I do lots of photography work using online storage and I'm guessing here but I tend to find that when I've been using these services over the course of the day the overall performance of the router drops significantly. I used to wire my PC directly from the cable modem (SB 3100) and got a reasonable 6Mb download.<br><br>I then decided to add wireless and bought a shiny new 2110n.<br>Problem is that even after resetting to factory defaults, updating the firmware and putting in the least settings necessary to get broadband, I get only 0.84Mb download!&nbsp; It doesn't matter whether I connect to the Draytek wirelessly or by ethernet, I still only get 0.84Mb.<br><br>I have run out of ideas.&nbsp; When I revert back to ethernet straight from the cable modem, I get 6.0Mbs very consistently.&nbsp; I have emailed Draytek and, so far, nothing has worked.<br><br>Anyone out their with a good idea.&nbsp; I have tried setting the MTU to 1500 as suggested but it made no difference. <br>]]>
