The Linksys PAP2 can manually be configured by entering the settings provided by your Internet phone service provider (IPSP).

This thread will contain configurations on the various UK IPSP.

I'm happy to assist.

When you dial your sipgate number from another phone (e.g. a mobile) does the phone connected to your pap box ring?

Do you get a dial tone when you pick up this phone?

What setting is in your config screen for caller id on the pap config?

What phone is connected to your pap box?  is a dect or a normal bt phone and what make model?

Do you have a connector between your phone cable and the connection into your pap box?  and if so has it got a ring circuit built into it?

3 questions:

1) Is it true you can have 2 sip providers registered, if so how do you select? (Wanna use sipgate for inbound and 18866/voipbuster for outbound)
2) does it come with RJ11 adapters?
3) does it support LCR or no outbound calls on a selected sip service?

1. I have mine working with sipgate after a small amount of agro setting it up.  voipbuster wont work which I believe is because they use a GSM codec at the start of every call - the pap doesn't support GSM.  you should be able to have 2 voip providers setup on it though but this will be via 2 seperate phone sockets at the back.

2. no you have to buy your own rj11 to bt adaptor - make sure it's the one with the ring circuit or some bt phones will not ring when you get incoming calls.  maplins sell these at £7 - product code vd36p.

3. no it doesn't do LCR - for that you'd need to check out the sipura 3000 (the pap is based on the sipura 2000) which has loads more functionality but costs twice the price.

the sipura user group - essential help here:-

Damit! I really wanted to try voipbuster/voipcheap.co.uk. That was 80% of the reason for looking for a hardware solution

Any idea what kit does?

I'm looking for dual SIP providers and LCR. Infact I'd like 3-4 SIP providers.
The ability to take direct inbound calls would be good too.
The ability to 18866 the pstn outbound calls would be good too.

I'll check out the sipura 3000 tho.

I've searched and have not found any h/w reported as working on voipbuster other than the following thread:-

www.voipuser.org/forum_topic_1234.html

which I take with a pinch of salt as I've tried to match the settings on my pap and still fail to get a working voip buster connection.

I also note that voipbuster shut down their forums which indicates their level of interest in customer care!
